UAE Desert Safari: Childhood Dream Come True

I have always been a fan of the desert. I remember the first time I read about it in some textbook, I imagined it very vividly. Boundless sands, starry skies overhead and the pyramids of Giza. Yes, the topic was Egypt. I remember the first time I thought about the universe, why a person is born and what happens after death. Such philosophical thoughts visited me at that moment, in spite of my very young age. Anyway, for many years I had been warmly hoping to visit the desert and now I had a lucky chance, which I did not hesitate to take advantage of.

The Jeep Safari excursion is one of the most popular excursions in the UAE, despite the fact that it is extreme. It is held in the Rub el Khali desert. It is a jeep race with numerous turns on high sand dunes.

The excursion takes only half a day and already it can be enjoyed by many people. It usually starts at two o’clock for some people a little later and ends at about nine o’clock in the evening. The cost of the tour is $50.

The safari is divided into two parts. First we came to the desert, where we raced jeeps with extreme stunts. There was a lot of sand outside the windows. Of course, the adrenaline is off the charts. But bring tablets for motion sickness or at least nausea, otherwise the experience may be spoilt.

During the wild ride, all jeeps make a stop at the most scenic spot in the desert, where you can walk around and take photos.

Next on the programme we went to the fort, where the second part of the tour took place.

Camels were waiting for us in front of the fort. Riding them is included in the price of the excursion. Unfortunately, the buggies, which run at breakneck speed back and forth, are charged separately. I don’t remember the price, but it’s quite high, so we made do with just camels.

Afterwards we were waited for a dense dinner and a show. The most interesting show was the Fire Show, which I watched with bated breath. I skipped the rest of the show because it was absolutely uninteresting. The belly dance, which I watched out of the corner of my eye thinking, “Jady danced better than that!” And the dance of the man in the skirt that glows in the night. But I was not impressed, so I continued the meal.

At the end we gathered at our car (I advise you to remember the number of the car and the driver) and went to our hotels satisfied, fed up and a little tired.

To summarise, I can say that the tour is a real pleasure. Visiting it you can see the desert and feel the adrenaline rush.
