Jeep safari is an excursion worth going on

Hello everyone! Today I will tell you about one of the most famous excursions in Dubai – jeep safari. During the excursion you will be completely immersed in the oriental flavour. So the excursion is for those who want to get more familiar with the Arabian culture.

Where to buy excursions?

The internet is just teeming with a variety of tour options. On instagram we found a tour for $40 (there are more expensive ones, I guess they are more comfortable). At the meeting with the guide at the hotel we were offered a jeep safari for $35 per person. When we left the hotel, we were accosted by a man from Azerbaijan, from whom we subsequently bought all the excursions. His prices are a little cheaper, while the excursions are the same. So, we were not cheated anywhere.
We ended up buying the safari for $30.

How does the tour itself go?

The tour starts when the Toyota Land Cruiser picks you up at the hotel. From the hotel, we drove about an hour to the nearest stop. At this stop you can ride quad bikes, buggies, have a snack, buy souvenirs, and, of course, visit the bathroom.
We were here for about 30 minutes.
As it turned out later, the stop is necessary for the drivers to deflate the tyres, thus providing better passability on the dunes.
And then our journey began. Along with the rest of the jeeps, we embarked on an exciting and extreme desert drive.

The view from the car

We drove for about 20 minutes before we stopped to get out and walk around the Rub Al-Khali desert, recognised as the largest desert in the Arabian Peninsula. Like children we took off our shoes and started running, lying, sitting in the sand. It was very pleasant to the touch. The desert itself is very beautiful, immense. The photos turned out vivid, saturated.

After that we again got into the car and drove on. The next stop. Here the drivers were cleaning sand off the cars. We didn’t stay here long, about 10 minutes.
From here we went to the camp for dinner, where it was immediately explained to us that before dinner you can do free mehendi and ride a camel. The circle is very small, but it was enough for us.
As you can see, it gradually got dark and we had dinner in the dark.

The first thing we were served were patties, if I am not mistaken, they are called samosa. I liked them very much.
Dinner was buffet style. But for a fee you can choose the vip-tariff, it differs only in the fact that the food will be brought to you by waiters. As our travelling companions were two men from Iraq, they paid the VIP fare for us. Very gallant young men. It was pleasant.
The food was grilled meat. On the side dish: some noodles, pasta, vegetables, rice. There was also fruit and dessert.
After that the show programme began. It consisted of a fire show and tanura. Tanura is an oriental dance, which consists in the fact that a man puts on a skirt and twirls around himself for several minutes, thus showing willpower and endurance.
We liked it all, of course, but we did not have time to enjoy it to the full. Immediately after the show the host announced that the holiday was over. At the same time people were still sitting with full plates…

Summary

The excursion gave me a lot of positive impressions, but it was not enough. The journey is time consuming.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
