The Safari Park in Dubai was opened in 2017 and soon closed for a major renovation. The reserve reopened its doors to the public. The renewed park is a unique chance to get to know the wildlife. Here, on 119 hectares of land, live more than 3000 inhabitants, representatives of more than 250 species of animals and birds.
You will be able to observe the life of animals in their natural habitat: since there are representatives of fauna from all corners of the planet, the park is divided into several climatic zones imitating safari, jungle, mountains. There is a contact zoo where you can pet and feed tame animals and birds.
Safari Park in Dubai is a special place where animals are very much loved, and visitors can not only look at the “locals” from the outside, but also participate in their lives, and even get express training on how to take care of them.
What you will see
Dubai Safari Park is home to a wide variety of animals: mammals, predators, primates, reptiles, as well as invertebrates, amphibians, birds. Here you will see wild animals live, but not only those you know about, but also rare specimens. For example:
- Asian black bear or moon bear.
- White antelope.
- Sand gazelle.
- The Komodo Dragon, the only reptile in the Emirates.
- The white lion, the rarest member of the feline family. And there’s only one in the Emirates.
- The Saali monkeys are intelligent social Asian monkeys, brought to the Emirates for the first time.
The park has an impressive collection of reptiles, baboons. You will have an opportunity to watch hippos underwater – it is hard to imagine how gracefully these clumsy animals can move in the water.

Park areas
During your visit to the reserve you will explore its themed areas.
- Arabian Desert (Arabian Village). The Arabian Desert (Arabian Village) is the starting point of the zoo, an area with wild animals from Africa and Asia. During the walk you will see lions and tigers, antelopes and zebras, ostriches and mouflon, cheetahs and hyenas, as well as gazelles, hippos, giraffes and many other animals. Many species are endangered and the guide will tell you what measures are being taken to conserve them and return them to the wild. During the trip you will observe animals walking, frolicking, eating and interacting with each other.
- Asian Village. This zone bears the imprint of a unique Asian flavor, which is reflected in the décor, landscape and buildings. The Asian Village is the smallest in terms of area. It is home to a variety of forest and pond dwellers, but the main character of the zone is the Moon Bear, named for the crescent-shaped markings on its chest. This zone is home to Asia’s largest ape, the orangutan, as well as the mandarin duck, gibbons, southern casuar and other inhabitants.
- African Village. Here you will find a variety of animals from the African continent, from the largest to the smallest: from giant elephants to meerkats and meerkats. The elephant is the main inhabitant of the village, weighing 6,000 kilograms. You will see African primates and lemurs – these are whole monkey islands, where dozens of individuals live. Also in the African zone live Komodo dragon, sable, pygmy hippo, antelopes, birds turaco, peacock, ibis, different kinds of ducks, pheasant, flamingo, as well as snakes, python, chameleon and many others.
- Explorer’s Village or Safari. Embarking on this journey in an armored jeep, you will observe wild animals in their natural habitat. You will see a hippo village, pass by a canyon where a troop of baboons live, see grasslands with ungulates, a large lion pride, white rhinos. The tour will continue over the bridge where you will observe crocodiles, then enter the plains and grasslands where deer and antelope live.
- Al Wadi – Lunch area. In this part of the park you can relax and eat: picnic, buy takeaways from street stalls or visit one of the two local restaurants. Picnic outdoors will be a pleasant vacation: you can sit on the grass near the river, watching ducks, swans, peacocks and pelicans, walk along the picturesque paths and take great photos.
Besides animals in the Safari Park there are rare species of plants, characteristic for each zone, artificial ponds and ponds. For example, in the tropics it will be dense thickets of tropical plants.
You will move around the zones on a special vehicle with excellent visibility. The distance between the zones is quite large, you can overcome it on foot, or you can take a special train. In addition, you will enjoy an entertaining walk through the bird aviary, during which you will see all the feathered inhabitants of the park.
Open Safari Theater
There is a large theater dedicated to animals in the reserve, it is a whole educational and entertainment complex, which employs 600 people. There are daily themed shows for visitors, during which guides talk about different animals and answer questions from the audience.
- “Amazing Creatures of the World.” The show is held in the Asian Village. It involves different animals in their natural habitat: you will see them hovering in the air, moving on land, swimming in water, while the guide tells you what their actions mean, how to survive in the wild and how to get food. The participants of the show are exotic animals: gibbons, orangutans, casuars, wallabies, moon bears. During the show you will learn interesting facts about each animal: what role it plays in nature and human life.
- Birds of Prey Show. This show is dedicated to birds of prey. You will be told about the species of birds, the hunting skills of each species, flight patterns, peculiarities of behavior and the importance of such birds for the ecosystem of the world.
- Bird Show. Bird show is a colorful spectacle that tells about the brightest representatives of birds and their contribution to the environment. You will learn about the peculiarities of training large birds, see how they can interact with humans.
Feeding the animals
The Dubai Safari Park has paid great attention to the possibility of visitors to interact with the inhabitants. Here you can feed a giraffe, for which a separate platform has been built, as well as an endangered species of animals – white rhinos. In addition, you can feed goats, parrots and ponies. Feeding takes place every day at the same time.
Contact zoo
The whole area of the park is something between a contact zoo and a farm. The local inhabitants are the cutest and friendliest: children can feed and pet goats, donkeys, lambs, ponies, sheep, ducks and birds. Young visitors will be told about the “inhabitants” of the farm, their habits and character, peculiarities of care.
Who can be seen here: African love bird, Eurasian bullfinch, several species of parrots, dwarf goat.
Souvenir stores
There are two stores with themed souvenirs: toys, figurines, clothes and other symbolic small things. Here you can buy something to remember your visit to the park.
Safari Park Tickets
Tickets to Safari Park can be standard or combo, either way group transfers are included. You will be picked up from any hotel in Dubai, collection takes place in the morning, between 08:00 and 08:30.
Benefits
The Children’s Ticket Combo for children ages 3 through 12 will cost $50 per person. Children under 3 years old can visit the park free of charge when accompanied by an adult (boarding place in the bus is not provided). There are no additional ticket benefits for certain categories of citizens.
Standard ticket+group transfer
The standard ticket includes transfer from Dubai, Ajman and Sharjah, services of guides, staying in the park for 5 hours, visiting thematic zones, except for the Explorers’ Village (jeep ride on Safari). The price of such a ticket is 60$ per person.
Combo ticket+group transfer
The combo ticket differs from the standard ticket only by the fact that it includes all zones of the park. The price also includes the services of a guide, 5 hours of stay in the park and transfer from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman. The cost of the ticket is 70$ per person.

For the “combo” ticket all zones are included in the price, for the “standard” ticket – all zones except the Explorers’ Village.
Extra charge
If you are in another city, you will have to travel to Dubai at your own expense. Transfers from other emirates are available, rates on request. The price does not include food and beverages, your personal expenses.
